“Four Black Dragons,” from the Japanese-language “Pacific Overtures” directed by Amon Miyamoto.
I’m really kicking myself for not seeing this in NYC, if only to see the flag effect at the end of this song.
Stephen Sondheim & John Weidman have written a new version of “Four Black Dragons” and “Next” (both from Pacific Overtures) to refer to the Tohoku earthquake. It will be premiered at the Shinsai: Theaters for Japan benefit on Sunday, March 11. You can read the new version of the songs at Talkin’ Broadway.
