Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band featuring Nick Blaemire,

At the conclusion of last week’s Charlie Rosen’s Broadway Big Band show, the director came over to me and said, “We started with two Sondheim numbers just for you.” I’m pretty sure the “just for you” part was a lie, but the numbers were great. Here’s “Everybody Says Don’t” with Nick Blaemire on vocals.
Apparently there was an Israeli production of Side by Side by Sondheim in Jerusalem a couple of years ago. Here’s Gil Alon singing “Everybody Says Don’t” from that production, in a translation by Dan Almagor.
A very special advanced preview studio mix of the first complete recording of “Everybody Says Don’t / Don’t Ballet” from the forthcoming JAY Records complete recording of ANYONE CAN WHISTLE. Starring, John Barrowman, Maria Friedman, Julia McKenzie and Arthur Laurents. Original Orchestrations by Don Walker. National Symphony Orchestra conducted by John Owen Edwards.
Now I readily admit that, on average, women cannot do everything men can - there are some biological limitations - but I get incredibly upset when I am told, “You shouldn’t do it, you are a girl!”. Who sets the (insert expletives)* rules?
*I made the mistake of telling my priest that my Lenten promise this year is to swear less often. My priest believes that a commitment at Lent is a commitment for life. To be fair I made this commitment myself.
