NPR’s been a little obsessed with this production of Company, but I’m not complaining. In today’s installment of NPR’s secret show “All Sondheim” (secret because each installment is aired as part of a different actual NPR show), Linda Holmes talks about Company, Follies, and the future of Theater on Film.
I really like this piece, not only for the way she talks about Patti LuPone, but also for the ways in which she acknowledges that’s she’s speaking in hypothetical ideas but doesn’t let the reality of things like bad seats and union contracts get in the way of her dreams.
